RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN VISUALS + LYRICS: 
Tempa T's song is about making 'Pars' this is an urban word and means: 'When something happens to you that is considered by many to be an extremely rude breach of social standard.' Therefore throughout the whole song it is a relationship between his lyrics and the visuals as he does a 'par' then it will show the par he does. For example 'CLEAR, all your cd racks won't get non of your CD's back' this is then followed by the visuals of Tempa T smashing a CD rack over in someones house. it then follows on in the whole video of him doing 'Pars'.

GENRE CHARACTERISTICS:

Grime is an aggressive kind of music anyway with lots of violent talk, very much like rap however more up pace and mainly by british rappers. so Next Hype is a very good example of the genre, with grime the artists tend to talk about themselves. Therefore Tempz fits in perfectly with the grime genre as in this video and like most videos he talks about himself and is very aggressive when rapping. as he has his top off in a lot of it and shows him in the gym boxing.

INTERTEXTUALITY?

This video is also very unique there isn't many videos like this, 'par' is a word very rarely used at the point when this video was made. You could say thats Tempz was the one who

made the word so big he was a pioneer with the lyrics used. 

There is some intertextuality however but not with the lyrics, cleverly its at the start, where Tempz works. Instead of the toy company 'Toys 'R' Us' He works for 'Pars 'R' Us' a clever example of intertextuality.

PERFORMANCE, NARRATIVE AND/OR CONCEPT?:

The video is very much a narritive video as it has scene at the beggining that lasts around 2 minutes of them having a conversation with non-diegetic sound

PERFORMANCE STYLE: 

the performance style of this video is very much unique as it is mainly lip synching and acting by various characters. it is all very random. there is no clear idea of what they are doing. however the lip synching is very serious, with alot of intent in connection with the words 'getting stressed' 'insomnia release me' the character never breaks a smile he is very serious and emotional.

STAR TREATMENT

 the singer in faithless is the main character (Maxi Jazz) who is the character who lip synchs for nearly all the song. this is because he is telling a story of his personal experience of insomnia.

PACE + ANY VARIATION OF PACE: 

when the song drops into the up pace beat the shot variety becomes much more. however the song in general to say it is trance isn't very upbeat there are very long takes, not going with the beat like many dance videos do

DIRECTOR STYLE:

The directors style is very unique and different it was a pioneer in music videos as nothing like that had been seen before. The lip synching and nightmares that the character has was just different, most videos then either told a story or had a performance (e.g dance routine).

the way the words go with the video was very clever as the whose song is about him getting no sleep. It then puts you in his mind with the boy in red paint which suggest satanic spirits is why he cant sleep, the boy keeps him awake! everything is dark, which the director cleverly chose in every scene as he is in a dark place.
